Puppy Dog Nursery has a simple but powerful mission: Ensure every puppy is set up for success by combining responsible breeding, early training, and lifelong support.

  Most people wouldn’t know a good breeder from a bad breeder, which is where we come in. We have toured hundreds of kennels, and we partner exclusively with breeders who prioritize health, temperament, and responsible practices. A solid start makes everything else so much easier.
• Nurture:
  The early weeks are a powerful learning window, and our structured program gives puppies the head start most families could never replicate. Through socialization, crate training, and our proven potty training system, our puppies are confident, well-prepared, and ready for a smooth transition into their forever home.
• Support:
  Bringing home a new puppy is just the start of the journey, and we are here to walk with you every step of the way. Our puppies come with health guarantees, microchipping, insurance, and many other resources to make sure that once we place a puppy in a home, it stays there for life.

At Puppy Dog Nursery, we don’t believe in impulse decisions. Our adoptions only happen in person, so you can meet the puppies, spend time with them, and let one choose you.

Meet the Founder: Sheila Noonan

At the heart of Puppy Dog Nursery is Sheila Noonan, West Michigan’s leading expert in early puppy development. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience working with breeders, vets, and dog trainers, Sheila has helped thousands of families find not just a puppy, but the kind of loyal companion that truly changes lives.

Her journey began in 2016, inspired by her first dog, a Boston Terrier named Kennedy America. As a young adult going through a very hard season, Sheila found healing, joy, and purpose in that relationship, and knew she wanted to bring that same light to others. Puppy Dog Nursery is the realization of that vision: a warm, intentional space where families are empowered, puppies are nurtured, and joy is contagious.

After years of working in the pet industry and realizing there was still a need for something different, Sheila launched Puppy Dog Nursery in 2023 with a bold mission—to raise the standard of puppy adoption. Her approach combines best practices from shelters, breeders, and pet stores, with an unmatched level of structure and support. She’s developed her proprietary systems for potty training, socialization, and temperament matching—earning her a reputation as Michigan’s go-to puppy expert.

Sheila currently shares her life with three dogs: her two Boston Terriers, Miss America (the store alpha) and Grumpy Gracie (the store rescue), along with her newest addition, a Rottweiler pup named Francis May!! Her home, like her business, is filled with heart, structure, and dogs who are deeply loved.
